How does Microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals to remove the dead outermost layer of skin. This skin exfoliation process reveals the new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.

Because the microdermabrasion procedure is performed under the supervision of a qualified professional, you can be confident that you will be treated with the utmost care. The procedure helps stimulate collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

How does a skin peel work?

A skin peel is like a deep cleansing and rejuvenation mask which effectively removes the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face and other parts of the body. These dead skin cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface. It can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs and is appropriate for all skin types.

What are the benefits?

Most patients experience softer, smoother skin and may see a subtle improvement after just one visit. After a number of treatments, your skin will have a cleaner and more translucent appearance and with each additional treatment, the benefits multiply with increased circulation resulting in newer, healthier skin cells. Both Medical Microdermabrasion and Skin Peels are progressive procedures, which means a course of treatments is needed to maintain results.

How many treatments will I need?

Of course, this depends of the type of skin condition you have. We treat each case individually and recommend a personal treatment programme tailor-made for your needs. However, to give you an idea, acne usually needs a minimum of six treatments, acne scarring six to eight treatments and fine lines and wrinkles a minimum of six treatments. All of these conditions benefit from periodic top up treatments.
